iHeartFaces – Back to School

6 Sep

On 19th August these two went back to school.

It’s been a bit mental since. New headmaster. New rules. Not always very well thought out.

We all got a letter 12 days before school started with some new uniform regulations which, to be honest, didn’t really affect these two. Nevertheless, 12 days before the start of term, when the shops run out of uniform around 2 weeks after the summer holidays start = not a popular move.

Day 1 they were all, 900 of them, personally inspected by the senior management team to ensure they were meeting the new regulations. Obviously many parents must have had their telepathy switched off as black shoes, tank tops and cardigans were arbitrarily deemed “OK” for some and “not OK” for others. Even if they were related. Which made it a bit obvious. Duh.

Anyway it’s all calmed down now and they are, once more, permitted to wear cardigans and jumpers in class. Which is cool, Or rather warm. Cos it’s an old boiler in the school. And it rarely manages to pipe water from one end to the other and keep it… warm.

I know this.

Cos I used to go there.

And PPP seems to have passed our school by.

But they’re getting a new gym.

To add to the 3 they already have.

So that’s…. actually it’s shocking if you ask me.

But nobody does.

I tried to find the Parent Council online, or on paper, or anywhere.

Anyway, off they went on day 1 and despite having been allocated a crappy school bus again, they kept smiling and left looking rather spic’n’span even if I say so myself.

And just so he doesn’t feel left out … the next day Paul started pre-school.

How much easier life would be if he had a uniform. I’m contrary like that.

Go see iHeartFaces for more positive parenting, cos I just moan.
