25th January 2010

25 Jan

Paul: We had haggis for tea at school

Me: Did you eat it?

Paul: No!

Me: Why did you have haggis?

Paul: Cos of Rabbie Burns

Me: Who’s he then?

Paul: He was a farmer but he wasn’t very good so he stopped being a farmer. He’s good with words.

He’s indeed “good with words”.

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae mony a blunder free us,
An’ foolish notion:
What airs in dress an’ gait wad lea’e us,
An’ ev’n devotion!

Robert Burns, To A Louse

Is this all new? It looks new. Very nice, actually.

Aye tis new – and temporary.
It’s a bit clean and shiny for me but the old layout started playing silly buggers about a fortnight ago and refused to display my 800px wide photos. This will do til I get time to come up with something dark and fitting my fed up status.

If nothing the 2 reply buttons will have to go before I go beyond fed up to totally pissed off 😉

    Happy Burn’s day/night

I wanted to make a meal for it again this year and have friends over, but I’ve been blocked up with sinus infection and feeling downright miserable. So instead it will be just us and we’ll have pasta and sauce since i haven’t even done the shopping. Bah.

    Love the new look.

Nice new look but it is a bit, how can I put this delicately, white?

I see Paul’s quite good with words too – very direct!
